Making your urban journeys fun and comfortable! You'll love its practical side and how well-equipped it is.

This city bike comes with quality components: a low frame, pannier rack, internal 7-speed hub, double-walled rims, and automatic lights powered by its dynamo hub. Bike weight. Size S / M:19.2 kg.

size L / XL: 19.3kg.

Drivetrain: Your Elops 540 comes with a Shimano NEXUS 7-speed hub. It's the very best in terms of fluidity - even when stopped or on hills - to make changing gear much easier.

The internal-gear hub means less maintenance, no rust, no malfunctions, no injuries and no dirt.

Brakes: For efficient, safe braking, we have equipped your bike with aluminium front and rear calliper V-brakes.

Handlebar / Stem / Steering: The Elops 540 is equipped with a steering damper in addition to aluminium handlebars with an ergonomic geometry and an aluminium damper stem (for less weight).

The result? You are more comfortable while riding and the handlebars do not swing to the side once you lean the bike on the stand. A steel seat post and a comfortable saddle. The steel seat post further absorbs vibrations and the screw-in seat clamp collar limits the risk of theft.

And the seat? This is our favourite part: after numerous tests, we chose this wide saddle whose foam padding has variable hardness to adapt to the pressure of your body in the saddle.

Why this one? Because it is by far the most comfortable! Wheels: The Elops 540 has 28-inch wheels with raw aluminium double-walled rims (sturdy). To protect your spokes and avoid flat tyres, we recommend inflating your tyres to a pressure between 3.5 and 4.5 bars.

And to prevent the risk of theft during your activities in town, the wheel is attached with a locknut hub.

Tyres: We chose very wide tyres (45mm) so that you can ride comfortably in town: a smooth rolling bike that can easily drive over small obstacles along the way. Not even cobblestones, sewer drains, potholes, or tramway rails can make you lose your balance! The Skinwall tyres are lighter, more comfortable, reinforced and equipped with a reflective strip.

Inner tubes are equipped with car valves: you can inflate your tires at a service station. The stand is on the rear wheel to stay out of the way while pedalling. The pannier rack holds 27 kg (the standard for fitting a child seat).

With the AXA front and back automatic hub dynamo lights (they turn on and adjust their brightness to suit the light levels), there's no more messing around charging batteries before setting off, and no more of the noise you'd get from a "bottle" dynamo.

B'Twin Bikes

B'Twin Bikes

B'Twin are a popular choice of bike in the UK, partly due to their widespread distribution by Decathlon, and partly due to the value they offer. Their bikes are divided into several slightly overlapping ranges, with Triban best known for road and gravel bikes, and Rockrider gaining a reputation for high performing MTBs to suit every budget. Elops largely consist of a range of city bikes, whereas Riverside focus on hybrids. All in all, B'Twin bikes are well worth checking out given the size of their ranges; there's a model to suit most budgets.

Elops Hybrid Bikes

Elops Hybrid Bikes

The Elops series of bikes from Decathlon comprise of traditional city bikes and hybrids, with men's and ladies versions available for most models.

This range are designed for road use in the urban environment; ideal for casual cyclists and commuters.

The majority of these bicycles were originally badged as "B'Twin Bikes" prior to 2018, when a rebranding policy led to each type of bike receiving a new label. The Elops bike range also includes a handful of electric city bikes for those who'd like a helping hand when ascending hills.
