This is, in large, due to the use of asymmetrical chainstays and tapered seat stays. The massive bottom bracket area allowed the designer to increase the stay size to improve pedal stroke efficiency by balancing the chain integrated torque. The asymmetrical stays are complimented by the tapered seat stays that ensure stiffness and efficiency near the seat tube and allow maximum absorption of vertical stresses at the dropouts.

The frame has continued to be developed with the pairing of an integrated fork that improves the model's aerodynamic profile whilst increasing the torsional stiffness due to the way it is positioned with respects to the down tube. The new lower position tube, integrates seamlessly with the fork crown, generating an aerodynamic profile, which is able to further reduce air resistance. Sporting a wider, 22.5mm, rim accepts a larger clincher tyre allowing the GTR SL to run 28mm if gravel riding is its chosen purpose. The wider rim creates a greater tyre/rim interface giving better aerodynamic properties, reduced rolling resistance and increased ride comfort.
