60 TON Carbon Technology To build a great monocoque carbon frame, Wilier look for the perfect balance of stiffness, comfort and responsiveness at the lightest possible weight. Carbon fiber is an ideal material for bicycle frames because of its qualities of elasticity, capacity to withstand stresses, and its strength-to-weight ratio. The higher the modulus, the stiffer the composite.

On the other end of the spectrum, the lower the modulus, the more elastic it will be. In the construction of the Cento1 Superleggera, we implemented MR60H for stiffness in the critical stress areas where lateral stiffness equates to greater efficiency. Then we used T800H and T700SC, with more elastic characteristics, to ensure comfort and sure-footed handling.

Each was used as minimally as possible once our demanding strength and durability standards were met, ensuring the lightest weight frame possible. Shimano Ultegra Drivetrain Light action Vivid Shifting is just one of many features taken from Shimano's top end groupsets, making the Ultegra 11 speed 6800 groupset a performance option for the masses. The shifters and derailleurs incorporate Shimano's Vivid Shift technology, with a light but positive feel all the way through the 11 speed drivetrain, giving you the gear you want, when you want it, with the minimum of effort.

With its two piece hollow axle design, the Shimano Hollowtech II RS500 chainset is both stiffer and lighter than a square taper chainset. Mounting the large diameter bearings outboard of the bottom bracket shell also provides increased stiffness and bearing life over standard cartridge units. With 50/34 compact gearing, you can tackle even the steepest climbs with confidence.

Ultegra Dual pivot brake calipers provide excellent braking power, with angle adjustable pads to ensure perfect pad alignment. A quick release lever aids installation and removal of wheels, for transportation or puncture repairs.
