Giro Chrono Pro Alpha Jacket
Giro's Chrono Pro Alpha (R) Jacket brings cosy warmth to the saddle, using both Polartec (R) Windbloc (R) and Alpha (R) Direct insulation to defy icy cold winds and plunging temperatures.
Cosy cycling is assured during the colder months of the year. Cold weather needn't resign you to an indoor training session, with the warmth of the Chrono Pro Alpha (R) Cycling Jacket you can enjoy cold, crisp days on the bike. The warmth is all down to the combination of Polartec (R) Windbloc (R) fabric and Polartec (R) Alpha (R) Direct Active insulation.
Windbloc prevents cold winds penetrating the jacket and robbing body heat while the Alpha (R) Direct Active insulation is remarkably light but incredibly good at retaining warmth, trapping a layer of air to protect you from the icy tentacles of cold weather. A Durable Water Repellant (DWR) coating provides extra protection on dull and damp days too. Cold days tend to be more demanding on energy levels and so the form-fitting silhouette prevents excess fabric catching the wind and so saving those energy-stores for the last few miles to home.
Speaking of energy, the Expandable Storage Pockets provide ample space for gels and bars to keep you fuelled and for long days that finish in the dark the 3M Reflective highlights add visual pop to enhance visibility when the daylight fades. Windproof Polartec (R) Windbloc (R) fabric. Polartec (R) Alpha (R) Direct Active Insulation.
Durable Water Repellant (DWR) coating. Expandable Storage Pockets (ESP). An articulated pattern for on-bike fit.
Secure zip pocket. Wind guard front zipper cover. Wrist cuffs to keep the wind out.
3M (R) Reflective logos. Large reflective visibility panels. 100% Polyamide(Nylon).

Nowadays Giro are one of the largest helmet (and other cycling apparel) manufacturers in the world. They began life in the garage of Jim Gentes in 1985, California; his aim was to create a lightweight yet safe helmet, and from this goal the Giro Prolight was created. In 1994 the famous Roc-Loc system was launched, to keep the helmet in the correct position, maintaining comfort and safety. It enabled the wearer to fine tune the position of the helmet, helping to ensure a custom fit for every rider. Throughout it's history Giro has strived to create functional yet safe products, which also appear cool to encourage riders to use them. Sometimes it pays off (the Air Attack and the Xen) and sometimes not (The Fat Hat). Other innovations include the Aerohead, which helped win Greg Lemond the Tour de France by 8 seconds, and the Switchblade with removable facial protection. Nowadays Giro produce a line of cycling gloves, introduced in 2008, shoes (2010) and clothing lines (2013). In recent years Giro have introduced MIPs technology to their higher end helmets, helping to reduce the crash impact on a wearer's head and neck.
