This fully-equipped electric bike (pannier rack, mudguard, built-in lighting, etc.) is designed for short urban rides.

With this electrical assistance bike, you have some help for reaching your destination more easily, without sweating too much and while keeping perfect control over your time! One size fitting anyone between 1.60m and 1.90m.

Rear wheel motor: 36 volts, 250 Watt MAX. It has an engine torque up to 35 Nm.

This value allows you to assess the ease with which the bike can tackle certain obstacles (a climb, for example). The engine is also linked to a cadence sensor that provides electrical assistance based on your pedalling motion.

Battery: Lg/Samsung lithium-ion cells.

Charge time = 5 hours to a full recharge.

Battery life: 20 km maximum in mode 3 (maximum assistance), 55 km maximum in mode 1 (minimum assistance).

NB: The battery life of your bike is likely to vary depending on the weight being carried (your body weight + the weight of objects being carried), the gradient (climbs), and the weather conditions (cold reduces battery life, and wind slows your movement).

An LED control console is right next to your left grip so you don't have to let go of the handlebar to choose from the 3 assistance modes available: Economy, Normal and Sport. The remaining battery life is shown by an LED cursor on the same screen. You can also control the headlights.

Off Mode - Deactivated (the battery is not used). Mode 1 - Economy => assistance up to 15 km/h max. Mode 2 - Normal => assistance up to 22 km/h max.

Mode 3 - Sport => assistance up to 25 km/h max. "Walk" Mode => helps you to push the bike when you're walking alongside it (assistance up to 6 km/h).

Drivetrain: 6-speed B'twin Microshift rear derailleur.

KMC chain (Z7 RB model - rust-proof). Galvanised cables. Microshift gear shifter.

14-28 Shimano TZ500-6 cassette.

Lighting: Built-in front and rear AXA lighting, 20 LUX intensity. Can be seen from 150m at the rear, and illuminates 30m at the front.

Lighting powered by the bike battery.

Wheels: 28" double-wall aluminium wheels with 36 spokes for greater durability. 622x19C rims (for tyre widths ranging from 28mm to 62mm).

700*35/45 inner tube with SCHRADER valve.

Tyres: 700x45C gumwall tyres with reinforcement against punctures. ETRTO 44-622.

The ETRTO 44-622 label, for example, means that the tyre width (inflated, edge to edge) is 44 mm and its inner diameter is 622 mm. This notation allows you to make an accurate match to the correct rims to use. 30 TPI.

Note: It's normal for tyres to lose pressure over time, since an inner tube is slightly porous. So regularly check your pressure. TEKTRO front and rear V-brakes.

Braking sensors built into the levers to cut the electrical assistance to the engine when the brakes are engaged. Aluminium brake levers. Wide Elops saddle is very comfortable, even on long rides.

Weight: 25.9 kg (including pedals and battery).

B'Twin Bikes

B'Twin Bikes

B'Twin are a popular choice of bike in the UK, partly due to their widespread distribution by Decathlon, and partly due to the value they offer. Their bikes are divided into several slightly overlapping ranges, with Triban best known for road and gravel bikes, and Rockrider gaining a reputation for high performing MTBs to suit every budget. Elops largely consist of a range of city bikes, whereas Riverside focus on hybrids. All in all, B'Twin bikes are well worth checking out given the size of their ranges; there's a model to suit most budgets.

Elops Hybrid Bikes

Elops Hybrid Bikes

The Elops series of bikes from Decathlon comprise of traditional city bikes and hybrids, with men's and ladies versions available for most models.

This range are designed for road use in the urban environment; ideal for casual cyclists and commuters.

The majority of these bicycles were originally badged as "B'Twin Bikes" prior to 2018, when a rebranding policy led to each type of bike receiving a new label. The Elops bike range also includes a handful of electric city bikes for those who'd like a helping hand when ascending hills.
