The Carrera Vengeance range has recently been expanded to include e-bikes, which follow suit with the rest of the line up in providing a 6061 alloy hardtail chassis and 27.5" wheels.
Available in two flavours; men's or women's, these electric mountain bikes strongly resemble their regular human powered siblings, albeit with a battery, motor and handlebar controls, combined with a 20lb weight increase and an additional £700.
So what do you get for your money? A 40 mile assisted range under typical riding conditions, with a 6 hour charge period.
4 different modes, with handlebar controls and display, complete with cadence sensor.
Superior disc brakes, with a 20mm increase in rotor diameter. An upgraded and simplified drivetrain, with 2 x Shimano phased out in favour of a 1x SRAM system.
Put simply, the Vengeance e-bike is a better version of the regular bike, with the peace of mind of a 2 year guarantee for the electrical components.
