Founded in 1889 by Charles Idoux and Lucien Chanel, Mavic are a bike component and clothing manufacturer, primarily known for strong yet lightweight rims. The famous yellow logo has appeared on hoops for many victorious professional riders throughout cycling's rich history. In 1934 Antonin Magne won the Tour De France on their Dura tube rimmed wheels, which weighed nearly half that of their competitors. Clothing and footwear are more recent addition to the Mavic stable, and have a reputation for being functional yet affordable.
