Taped seams allow the jacket to be waterproof as they cover all the holes that stitching leaves behind.

The second important element that taping brings to a garment is that the areas which come in contact with bags, it means that moisture will not seep through like a wet sponge. The jacket has been cut to wear over a Roubaix Jersey, so allowing a little more room as this has been conceived as a wet weather riding product.
