Castelli Ladies Perfetto Long Sleeve Jersey
Castelli Ladies Perfetto LS Jersey
The Castelli Women's Perfetto long sleeve jersey will become a key piece of your cycling outfit from autumn through to spring. Formerly known as the Gabba long sleeve, you can be reassured that the elements won't affect your performance. It's Hard Improving on Perfection Last year's version of this garment was called the women's Gabba Long Sleeve Jacket, but as of 2016 Castelli reserved the Gabba name for the original Gabba short sleeve jersey. So many people called the long sleeve version of the Gabba "perfect," so naturally they've renamed it the Perfetto Jersey and set about improving on perfection; and here it is. With an improved water-repellent finish, it will keep you drier without affecting breathability. The cut has also been further refined so it fits better than ever. Laser-cut drain holes in the pockets make for a clean sleek look while a totally redesigned splash flap on the back means it lies flatter and fits better. The reflective logo back there keeps you visible. New Name - Perfetto - Designed for All Conditions The famous Gabba started out as a request from pro riders who wanted a short-sleeve rain jacket for racing in the rain. Castelli initially thought it would be such a hopelessly niche product that they'd never sell any, but it was made because their pro riders needed it. However, it turned out that the Gabba revolutionised the way pro riders dress for wet conditions, and now cyclists everywhere have found a better way to dress for cool conditions, whether dry or wet. Along the way, Castelli added a long-sleeve version of the Gabba, and then a vest, a lighter-weight version and even one with removable sleeves. It was starting to become a bit confusing, but the one constant was that everyone was using the same word to describe these products: perfect. Or in Italian, "Perfetto." Castelli have chosen to rename this family of products the Perfetto family, and the Gabba name will be reserved for the original short-sleeve jacket for racing in the rain. WINDSTOPPER (C) X-LITE The highly stretchable Windstopper (R) X-Lite fabric moves naturally with your body and doesn't restrict movement. It also delivers unprecedented performance, with 100% wind protection, and up to ten times greater breathability compared to other windproof fabrics. Fully aero, fully breathable and fully protected, made from Gore (R) Windstopper (R) X-Lite Plus fabric for lightweight total wind protection with water-repellent finish. Castelli has a rich history as one of the iconic cycling brands, primarily specialising in high end road clothing. Founded by Vittore Gianni in 1876, initially as a tailor shop in Milan, it diversified to include cycling clothing in 1910, for riders such as Alfredo Binda. In 1935 Armando Castelli joined the company, purchasing it 4 years later. Shortly afterwards it began supplying riders such as Gino Bartali and Fausto Coppi. By 1975, it was rebranded to Castelli, featuring the iconic scorpion logo, and shortly afterwards produced many revolutionary clothing products, such as the first lycra cycling shorts, windproof jerseys and thermal cycling clothing. To this day, the brand is synonymous with performance cycle wear, and together with Santini, they supply some of the greatest ex and current cyclists on the planet.
