SDG Formula FX I-Beam Saddle Breaking a 100-year-old tradition, the patented I-Beam Technology redefined the saddle-to-post connection by replacing the rails with a single beam that runs along the bottom of the saddle itself. In the late 90s, ideation stemmed from the demanding terrain of Whistler Mountain, British Columbia, Canada, where bike parts are put to the test and seldom pass. Bent, broken and popped saddle rails were the norm and SDGs lead designer had the vision to create a saddle-to-post connection that featured a beam rather than rails and hence, the I-Beam Technology was born. Top racers from all disciplines quickly embraced the Technology and helped test the early prototypes. Early-adopting gravity bosses like Aaron Chase, Kyle Strait, Sam Hill, Eric Porter, John Kirkaldie and even XC top-guns like Geoff Kabush and Todd Wells were in the I-Beam Technology camp early on. Lisa Sher and April Lawyer weighed in as well. This direct, honest feedback from the globes most talented off-road bicycle racers translated into a better product, without question. Leading mechanics such as the legendary wrenchman Monkey and GTs John Canepa, provided years of real-world race knowledge and insight. Improvements: Micro post adjustment Addition of Flex Cavity to suspend the beam, providing shock absorption Addition of Edge Flex to improve comfort Multiple saddle offerings Honeycomb design to add strength and save weight Benefits: Micro fine-tuning capability for precision fitment Superior fore/aft beam availability for maximum Proprietary nylon fiber composite base Unsurpassed strength to weight ratio Features: Category: cross country/all mountain/road Features: sleek, ultra comfortable shape, super-light foam, one-piece seamless microfiber cover, 2 density base with edge flex, bag mount compatible with Quick Clip Connection: I-Beam Weight: 235g Dimensions: 285mm x 145mm
