RockShox Reba RL Solo Air MTB Forks
The Reba is no prima donna. Even though it's available with a host of race-worthy technologies, this cross country fork doesn't need the promise of a podium to give its all. From quad-burning climbs to grin-inducing descents, the Reba is the ultimate trail warrior for daily duty. Reba is super consistent, durable and easy to service. Maybe not a technological feat, but it will help you set up your suspension in seconds instead of minutes. And more time on your bike equals more chances to earn King of the Mountain on your favourite trail.. Solo Air: Solo Air is like a Buddhist monk. Its enlightened design lets you add air to your forks through a single Schrader valve, filling both the positive and negative air spring chambers simultaneously. So they're always in perfect equilibrium, like Yin and Yang. Giving you a plush, predictable ride you can set up in seconds, with the lightest weight air spring on the market.. Maxle Lite (TM) : Who obsesses over the weight of their wheel axles? It's ridiculous, right? It's just a rod of metal bolting the wheels to your bike. But then again, Maxle Lite is a nifty thru axle system that makes your bike both lighter and stiffer. And less weight makes it easier to get your bike to do what you want. Especially when you don't need to bring tools to remove it, front or rear. And that extra stiffness gives you the precision to hit your lines no matter how burly. So maybe that obsession isn't so ridiculous after all..
More of my Cycling Forks deals
RockShox are one of mountain biking's most iconic brands, primarily known for suspension forks and rear shocks, but in recent years releasing suspension seatpost and dropper posts too. Founded in 1989 in the boom of the mountain biking scene, their first fork was the RS-1, which was followed throughout the nineties with the RockShox Mag, Quadra, Judy and Indy ranges. This success continued in 1998 with the lightweight SID models, and the heavy duty downhill Boxxer ranges. Due to competition from Fox, Marzocchi, RST and Manitou, sales slowed, and the company was taken over by SRAM in 2002, and has since thrived, with the Reverb Dropper post a common sight on mountain bikes worldwide.

About Merlin Cycles
This cycling deal was found at Merlin Cycles, one of the UK's most famous bike shops, located up North!
Merlin Cycles started life in 1993, founded by John Moss as a mail order Mountain Bike business ran directly from his spare bedroom in Chorley. Due to early growth, shortly afterwards he opened his first outlet in Ormskirk, and a few years later in 1998, the company grew into larger premises, moving to Leyland.
In the 1990's and early 2000's, Merlin were known for their ranges of mountain bike hardtails, released under the Rock Lobster and Merlin "Malt" brands. These steel and aluminium hardtails were designed in house, available as framesets or complete bikes, representing excellent value for money. The company was also well known for their handbuilt MTB wheels, which in my experience lasted for years without needing truing!
Merlin have always been competitive on pricing, particularly on suspension forks, brakes, wheels and groupsets, which continues to this day. Nowadays they have introduced road cycling equipment and clothing into their product ranges, due to the increase in popularity in this field, thus catering for a broader range of cyclists.
