The plastic shell of the Louis Garneau Edge Helmet is made with U-shaped ribs that are folded six times to reinforce the helmet structure. Massive vents create unprecedented low speed ventilation, moisture evacuation, and cooling required of mountain bike helmets. Internal frame system enables the huge vents to be created without jeopardizing protection. Super MSB technology: Ring-shaped plastic protection at the base of the helmet reinforces the perimeter for enhanced protection. U-Bar technology: Highly inspired by the Exo-Nerv technology, the plastic shell is made with U-shaped ribs (plastic is folded 6 times), that act as a complex exoskeleton to reinforce the helmet's structure. Integrated strap system with inner nerves: Inner frame which distributes the shock of impacts, thus providing support and protection while being lightweight. V-Pro System: Receptacle molded into the helmet that allows to install and remove the visor as often as desired. Removable plastic plugs are included to fill the holes when not used. This deal was originally found at Evans Cycles website, a bike shop which can trace it's roots back nearly 100 years! Evans Cycles is a London based chain of cycle shops, complete with an extensive online shop. Founded in 1921 by Frederick Evans in Kennington Road, SE London, the business traded for 30 years before being acquired by Joseph Smith in the 1950s, selling a range of cycles and toys. By the 1970s, focus was diverted solely to bicycles and cycling related equipment, and in the following years several franchised shops were opened. These were later brought back under the control of the main Evans company in the 1990s, at which point the famous Evans mail order catalogue was launched, complete with the traditional green and yellow colour scheme. With the growth of the internet, a website was launched in 1999 to help increase sales further, the latest incarnation of which can be found at www.evanscycles.com.
Since the early 2000s' the company has been steadily expanding, regularly opening new stores each year. By 2012, Evans employs 1100 members of staff, and currently has over 50 stores in the UK, making it one of the biggest cycle retailers in the country. In addition to selling a wide range of popular brands, Evans has also produced product ranges under "Pinnacle" and also currently has an exclusive deal with the "Hoy" brand.
