Gore Cycling Clothing
Gore, or Gore Bike Wear as the cycling range is called, is a manufacturer of high end cycling clothing. Founded in 1985, it's first product was the Giro jacket, which offered wind and waterproofing as well as being breathable, together with the lengthened back cycle specific design. Two years later the Superconfex team (which will eventually become Rabobank) used this garment at the 1987 Tour de France. In 1992 Gore introduced the Windstopper, with jerseys and tights coming the following year. By 1996 they had settled on their now distinctive minimalist logo, and ever since they have strived to launch performance cycling wear suitable for professionals and serious recreational riders alike.

I originally found this deal at Wiggle, who are widely established as one of the biggest cycle retailers in the UK. The first incarnation of this giant was as a small bike shop based in Portsmouth, named Butler Cycles. A few years later this evolved into Bikes @ Butlers to highlight their intentions to move the business online with the .com boom and subsequent rise in online sales. At the end of May in 1999 Wiggle.co.uk was launched by Mitch Dall and Harvey Jones. A rapid growth resulted in a need to move premises, and so in 2002 it relocated to Jackson Close, Portsmouth. This strong growth continued, and Wiggle has relocated twice since, the first being to Lakeside 1000, and then leaving Pompey altogether for a huge warehouse located centrally in Wolverhampton. Similarly to CRC, Wiggle stock many own brands, such as dhb, Eastway, Lifeline and Verenti, as well as bike, components and clothing from all of the leading manufacturers. Despite it's origins as a bike shop, Wiggle continue to stock equipment and apparel for not just road cycling and mountain biking, with extensive product lines for other disciplines such as triathlon kit, children's and commuters products and also running clothing and accessories. Prompt in delivery, and offering efficient returns and competitive pricing, Wiggle remain a firm favourite amongst serious and recreational cyclists alike, not least because of the customary bags of Haribo they include free with orders to keep their customers sweet!
