The 2016 Giant Defy 1 features at it's heart a lightweight ALUXX SL aluminium frame.

The Aluxx aluminum made my Giant is a proven material that has featured on some of their best bicycle frames. Having been market leaders in aluminium design and manuafctur for years, Giant are considered among the best when it comes to aluminium technology. The Defy frame features proven endurance geometry; designed to reduce strain on your back and neck; allowing you to ride comfortably over long distances.

This endurance geometry is particularly beneficial to your performance over long distances in sportives, weekend training and endurance racing. The Defy 1 also features the innovative Giant D-Fuse seatpost, which has been engineered and designed specifically to smooth out your ride, and absorb some of the buzz from the roads and provide a smoother, more comfortable ride. However, despite these comfort and endurance focussed innovations, the Giant Defy is still a fast and high performance machine.

The Over Drive tapered steerer tube provides fast and responsive handling at the front end, allowing you to corner more confidently and ride faster. Additionally, the Power Core bottom bracket maximises pedalling efficieny by ensuring maximum power transfer through the pedals, into the wheels. Making every stroke count when you're racing over the finish line, or perhaps just trying to beat your mate up the next big climb.

Finally the bike is finished off with an amazing 11 speed Shimano 105 groupset. This range of gears will allow you to climb hills, race down descents and sprint over the finish line.
