The Zero Z.1 may be the entry level model in the Zero range but you only have to look at the specification to see that it's far from entry level. Like the more expensive models in the Zero range the Z.1 features the same frameset with upgraded 30/40-ton high-modulus unidirectional carbon which helps to drop approximately 120g from last years 24/30-ton model. The big difference between the models is the groupset and wheels. The Zero Z.1 comes with Shimano's popular 105 5800 groupset which shares the same great performance as Ultegra with the only difference being the lever material and a slight weight difference. Completing the Zero Z.1 is Fulcrum Racing Sport wheels which are a great all-rounder and Genesis own brand finishing kit which gives the bike that extra touch of class and race pedigree. The Zero Range The Zero range is Genesis' first venture into carbon and my oh my have they hit the nail on the head with this superb looking range of bikes. The frame is designed to be highly aerodynamic, lightweight and most importantly, fast! The bike features internal cable routing, an aero bladed carbon fork and the downtube is dropped which helps during breakaway efforts as it gives a greater aerodynamic advantage. The frame incorporates all the latest design features such as large box section chainstays, a wide BB86 press-fit bottom bracket shell which provides stiff and efficient pedaling and the 27.2mm seatpost gives the bike comfortable flex which keeps the bike comfortable at all times. Genesis are going to have a hard time bettering this in the future.
