Fizik Thar Kium Saddle
Designed to allow optimum fit on 29" MTBs, the Fi'zi:k Thar features a unique saddle rail design that counter acts the natural hang over the back feel of 29ers to enhance power transfer and weight distribution by shifting you forward. The key element of the Fi'zi:k Thar Saddle is the position and shape of the saddle rails. With 25mm of extra adjustment to the rear of the rails, the Thar can sit further forward than a standard Fizik Saddle to improve bike fit, weight distribution and front wheel traction. The Fi'zi:k Thar Saddle also features a customisable tuner which allows you to adjust the level of base flex to suit your preferred comfort level and riding style. This base in reinforced with carbon for improved stiffness and power transfer. An integrated clip system is featured to the rear of the saddle which allows simple and fast mounting of a wide range of Fi'zi:k accessories including bags and lights so you only need to fit them when needed. This version of the Fizik Thar Saddle uses unique K:ium rails which use a special mixture of metals and alloys to create saddle rails with improved performance over standard steel rails with the same durability and lighter weight. Nylon Carbon Reinforced base Ki:um mobius rail Microtex cover Replaceable Tuner Insert I.C.S ready - accepts Fi'zi:k bags and lights Weight - 195g

Latest saddle deals
Founded in 1996, Fizik (or Fi'zi:k to be more accurate!) are primarily known for their range of bike saddles, which are aimed at the performance and racing end of the market. Typically they're lightweight and sleek - you don't find any beginner style chunky padded saddles in their ranges. The company is owned by Selle Royal, an Italian saddle maker, and Fi'zi:k obtains it's name from the phonetic spelling of the word physique. Recently they've branched out into other areas, such as cycling shoes and road bar tape, as well as road finishing kit such as bars, stems and seatposts, mainly finished in their customary black colour scheme. Famous riders to have competed using Fi'zi:k's products include Geraint Thomas, Phillipe Gilbert, and Rohan Dennis.

About Merlin Cycles
This cycling deal was found at Merlin Cycles, one of the UK's most famous bike shops, located up North!
Merlin Cycles started life in 1993, founded by John Moss as a mail order Mountain Bike business ran directly from his spare bedroom in Chorley. Due to early growth, shortly afterwards he opened his first outlet in Ormskirk, and a few years later in 1998, the company grew into larger premises, moving to Leyland.
In the 1990's and early 2000's, Merlin were known for their ranges of mountain bike hardtails, released under the Rock Lobster and Merlin "Malt" brands. These steel and aluminium hardtails were designed in house, available as framesets or complete bikes, representing excellent value for money. The company was also well known for their handbuilt MTB wheels, which in my experience lasted for years without needing truing!
Merlin have always been competitive on pricing, particularly on suspension forks, brakes, wheels and groupsets, which continues to this day. Nowadays they have introduced road cycling equipment and clothing into their product ranges, due to the increase in popularity in this field, thus catering for a broader range of cyclists.
