Just as at home on the road or the trail the Helium jacket offers excellent waterproof protection in a highly packable format. If it looks like there's a chance of a heaver shower makes sure you have a Helium jacket in your back pocket. The lightweight 2.5 layer fabric has impressive waterproofing and breathability stats to keep you dry from both within and without. The jacket comes with its own stuff sack to tidily pack it away into a size that'll stuff into a rear jersey pocket when not in use. The fit is designed to be athletic to stop it from flapping around in the wind and movement is unimpeded with well-placed stretch panels on the hem and armholes. The off-centre front zip means that it won't rub on your chin when the tall collar is done all the way up. There's also a drawcord at the back of the neck to cinch it down for a customised fit. Adjustment is automatic at the hem and cuff with the use of stretchy softshell material rather than more draw cords. Visibility in low light conditions is helped with the addition of reflective piping across the shoulders and sleeves. The jacket also features a discrete rear pocket with a zipped closure to keep your valuables safely stored. Technical details. Waterproofness: 15,000. Breathability: 15,000

A Scottish brand, Endura started life in 1993, aiming to provide functional and hard wearing cycling apparel at a competitive price. Founded by Jim McFarlane, they work with many professional riders and teams, including Movistar Team (ranked number 1 on the World Tour 2016), Alex Dowsett and Danny MacAskill. In 2014, they employed 100 staff to cope with demand from the public and pro teams that they supply. Their products have been extensively tested in McLaren F1 wind-tunnel, GebioMized research lab in Germany, and also an environmental chamber at the University of Kent - to ensure that every possible advantage can be gained. This technology used in the professionals clothing trickles down to their affordable consumer ranges, which are very popular amongst UK riders in Road cycling, Mountain Biking, cyclocross and triathlon disciplines.
