But don't think that means it's a harsh demanding race bike, the Emitter range balances a stiff power delivery with a smooth compliant ride. It's designed for enthusiast riders looking to improve sportive times and surprise their weekend riding buddies, but still fully capable of stepping up to the next race category. Shimano 105 Drivetrain Light action Vivid Shifting is just one of many features taken from Shimano's top end groupsets, making the 105 11 speed 5800 groupset a performance option for the masses. The shifters and derailleurs incorporate Shimano's Vivid Shift technology, with a light but positive feel all the way through the 11 speed drivetrain, giving you the gear you want, when you want it, with the minimum of effort. With its two piece hollow axle design, the Shimano Hollowtech II chainset is both stiffer and lighter than a square taper chainset. Mounting the large diameter bearings outboard of the bottom bracket shell also provides increased stiffness and bearing life over standard cartridge units. With 52/36 compact gearing, you can tackle even the steepest climbs with confidence. 105 Dual pivot brake calipers provide excellent braking power, with angle adjustable pads to ensure perfect pad alignment. A quick release lever aids installation and removal of wheels, for transportation or puncture repairs. Mavic Aksium Wheelset Aksium's may be Mavic's entry level clincher wheelset, but they still feature some top-end technology which delivers great performance when out on the road. A great addition to the Emitter, they are durable as-well-as being light & reliable. A strong, robust set of wheels that just keep going. To finish the wheels of and to give you the ultimate rolling performance they have fitted Continental Ultrasport tyres in 700x25C to offer that little more grip and reassurance around corners. Ritchey/Fizik Finishing Kit Finishing the Emitter off is a set of bars, stem and seatpost from the Comp series by Ritchey in black. Light weight, strong and reliable are the best way to describe this kit. Topping it off Eastway have supplied a custom colourway Fizik Antares saddle offering maximum comfort.
Road Bike Deals
I originally found this deal at Wiggle, who are widely established as one of the biggest cycle retailers in the UK. The first incarnation of this giant was as a small bike shop based in Portsmouth, named Butler Cycles. A few years later this evolved into Bikes @ Butlers to highlight their intentions to move the business online with the .com boom and subsequent rise in online sales. At the end of May in 1999 Wiggle.co.uk was launched by Mitch Dall and Harvey Jones. A rapid growth resulted in a need to move premises, and so in 2002 it relocated to Jackson Close, Portsmouth. This strong growth continued, and Wiggle has relocated twice since, the first being to Lakeside 1000, and then leaving Pompey altogether for a huge warehouse located centrally in Wolverhampton. Similarly to CRC, Wiggle stock many own brands, such as dhb, Eastway, Lifeline and Verenti, as well as bike, components and clothing from all of the leading manufacturers. Despite it's origins as a bike shop, Wiggle continue to stock equipment and apparel for not just road cycling and mountain biking, with extensive product lines for other disciplines such as triathlon kit, children's and commuters products and also running clothing and accessories. Prompt in delivery, and offering efficient returns and competitive pricing, Wiggle remain a firm favourite amongst serious and recreational cyclists alike, not least because of the customary bags of Haribo they include free with orders to keep their customers sweet!
