Fully Aero, Fully Breathable And Fully Protected Windstopper X-Lite Plus Fabric Dropped Storm Tail Silicone Gripper Waistband 3 Large Rear Pockets Weight: 343g (Large) Comfort Range: 6-15c Description The Castelli Gabba 2 has all of the same great features as the short sleeve version but with the protection of full length arms for better protection and zippered side venting to make it more versatile. The jersey is constructed from a Windstopper X-Lite fabric which is highly stretchable and moves naturally with your body and doesn't restrict movement. It also delivers 100% wind protection and up to ten times greater breathability compared to other windproof fabrics. At first glance the jersey looks like it has no zipper, but it actually has a hidden zipper that is enclosed under a storm flap for extra protection. The silicone gripper waistband and dropped tail have also been reworked to offer even greater protection while the 3 rear pockets have also got better drainage if water does get in. The jersey is finished with reflective trim on the pockets and flap for added visibility and toned down logo's as other manufacturers were complaining about having to colour in that big white wordmark! About Castelli Castelli Sport was founded in 1974 under the iconic scorpion logo to provide premium racing clothing to the next generation of riders, utilising space age (at the time) Lycra for the first time. Something that brought Merckx, Hinault and Moser through the door and gave rise to a new range of innovations derived from the demands of these legendary riders. Today Castelli continue to build upon their heritage, supporting the champions of cycling by constantly reworking existing designs and materials to produce some of the finest clothing available.
Castelli has a rich history as one of the iconic cycling brands, primarily specialising in high end road clothing. Founded by Vittore Gianni in 1876, initially as a tailor shop in Milan, it diversified to include cycling clothing in 1910, for riders such as Alfredo Binda. In 1935 Armando Castelli joined the company, purchasing it 4 years later. Shortly afterwards it began supplying riders such as Gino Bartali and Fausto Coppi. By 1975, it was rebranded to Castelli, featuring the iconic scorpion logo, and shortly afterwards produced many revolutionary clothing products, such as the first lycra cycling shorts, windproof jerseys and thermal cycling clothing. To this day, the brand is synonymous with performance cycle wear, and together with Santini, they supply some of the greatest ex and current cyclists on the planet.
