Avid DB3 Disc Brake
Avid DB3 Disc Brake (Elixir replacement) When you’re tackling rough trails, nothing affects your confidence and control more than your brakes. With increased negative volume to combat heat expansion, plus powerful larger-caliper pistons, DB3 gives you the juice to up your game. And a new bladder material reduces air bubbles, ensuring power and consistency on every ride. Features: Weight: 405g Lever Material: Aluminium Caliper Design: 2 Piston, Cast 2-piece Aluminium Rotor: G2 Cleansweep Pad: Organic, Top Loading Fluid: DOT 4 Mount: Ambidextrous - Matchmaker clamp Adjustment: Reach Adjust Intended Use: XC/Trail Please Note: Mount Adaptors are NOT included Technologies: Bend Zone™: We know that crashes happen, and that’s why we created Bend Zone. During a powerful hit—one that would break a normal lever—Bend Zone allows the lever to flex, saving the lever body from massive carnage. Not only will you be able to ride out of the woods without resorting to Flintstone-style braking, you won’t even have to get a new lever body. Power Reserve Geometry: At the end of the day, a brake lever simply multiples the force your hand generates (just like the nut cracker). Avid’s Power Reserve Geometry™represents a way of thinking about the physics of leverage and your hand’s comfort. This philosophy is fundamentally different than others in the business of brakes. Due to pivot placement, physics dictates that with other brake levers your fingers tend to slip off the ends as you pull. Avid is different. We designed our levers with the pivot closer to the handlebar, in fact, closer than anyone else in the industry. The resulting lever movement has less inward travel, an arc that’s closer to your fingers’ natural motion and delivers more force to the brake. The cool part is, every Avid lever has it. Matchmaker Compatible: Save weight and clutter on the bar with MatchMaker. This system holds Avid® levers, a number of SRAM® triggers and RockShox PushLoc controls – all with one tidy, light clamp. TaperBore Technology™: The term “TaperBore” refers to a unique patent-pending closure system in our Elixir and Code levers. It saves weight, looks super-sleek, improves lever feedback and most importantly–gives you more power and control. Tool-Free Reach Adjust: All the adjustability of our Reach Adjust without having to dig into your tools. Bring your levers in or dial them out—a few turns are all it takes with Tool-Free Reach Adjust.

About Chain Reaction Cycles
This product is for sale at Chain Reaction Cycles, one of the largest online cycle shops in the world. Opening in 1985, and starting off as a small independent bike shop in Ballynure, it moved to Ballyclare in 1989 and is now based in Doagh (all in Northern Ireland). In addition to regular local service, Chain Reaction Cycles (or CRC as it is often abbreviated to) established itself as a mail order business via advertisements in bicycle magazines; this continued until 1999 where it launched it's now famous website at ChainReactionCycles.com. Their blue themed website stocks around 90,000 products ranging from MTB & Road cycling equipment, to triathlon, BMX and running kit. As per several other leading bike shops, Chain Reaction produce their own product ranges, under brands such as Brand X. To this day CRC sponsor many cycling events, and due to the company's size and efficiency are able to offer very competitive pricing on cycle equipment. In 2016 Wiggle acquired Chain Reaction Cycles, although the two websites continue to operate independently of each other, both with their own distinctive branding and product ranges.
